Ingredients

  • 1/2 dozen assorted bagels sliced
  • choice of spreads blueberry jam, almond butter and chive cream cheese
  • 8-12 ounces smoked salmon
  • 1-2 tins smoked white fish I love the Fishwife and Ortiz brands
  • 1 small red onion thinly sliced
  • 4-6 small radishes thinly sliced
  • 1 medium cucumber thinly sliced
  • 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 1/4-1/2 cup capers I like using the whole caper berries
  • lemon slices for garnish
  • fresh dill sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  • To create your show-stopping bagel board, start with a large serving platter, wooden cutting board, or a sleek slate or marble board. Spoon the cream cheese and other spreads into small bowls and place them on the board first. Next, scatter fresh dill across the board, then artfully layer the smoked salmon and tinned fish on top. Arrange the onion, radish, cucumber, tomatoes, capers and lemon slices in their own little sections for a pop of color and flavor. Finally, add the bagels directly to the board—or serve them on a separate platter for a touch of elegance.
